Take a deep breath because it’s the best time of year once again! The Harvest is upon us and in so many ways, some more obvious than others. As we break out the sweaters and invite the crisp air of the mornings, our kitchens begin to fill with the colors, smells, and flavors of the season. This is a time to remember, so let’s make the most of it.
For many of us when we think of “Harvest” season we think pumpkin pie, hot apple cider, hay rides, corn mazes and the like. Here in the Northeast, many of our warmest memories are of our coolest days.
“Reap what you’ve sown” We’ve all heard it a million times but are we paying attention to it when it matters most? Right now is when it matters most. Now is your time to reap the rewards of your hard work all year. Now is the time to cash in those days off and get out in the colorful landscape and Fall activities, so grab the kids, grab your loved ones and friends and go do something.
Here are few of our favorites:
- Guided Horseback beach rides at Riverhurst Farm. (How romantic!)
- Kennebunkport 1 mile trail past President & Mrs. George Herbert Walker Bush’s Home at Walker Point. Panoramic look at the Kennebunk River, Mount Agamenticus, and the Atlantic Ocean. Head out on the trail when the tide comes in to really experience Spouting Rock and Blowing Cave – during a storm for the ultimate experience!
- Prefer to play inside? How about a cooking class? Try your hand at homemade pasta, lasagna with wild mushrooms and meat sauce. Bring your own wine or beer to enjoy with dinner! Call to sign up for class 207-967-4960
With the holidays on our doorstep, early November is the perfect time of year to steal away for a few days and recharge your soul. So come make those warm memories that will carry you through this winter season and foster next years anticipation for the Fall; because hey, some of our best memories are of the coolest days.
