Twenty-five years prior to buying the Captain Jefferds Inn, Erik and I took our first “innkeepers” course and afterward proceeded to look on and off for the “perfect inn” on the coast of Maine. The moment we stepped through the front door we knew that we had finally found it. We sold our home in Redding Connecticut, purchased this quintessential Kennebunkport Bed and Breakfast and began a wonderful journey in this special place along Maine’s coast.
About the Inn
The Captain Jefferds Inn has sixteen rooms from which to choose. Each individually decorated room has a private bath and many have a gas fireplace or wood-styled stove to add to the romantic ambiance. We serve a three course breakfast in the beautiful dining room where you will have the opportunity meet the other guests and exchange your stories and experiences but if you would prefer a more intimate setting we have tables for two or four.
What to Expect During Your Stay
During your stay in Kennebunkport, consider this your home, we provide a daily breakfast of course, and are happy to accommodate your dietary restrictions, free parking, daily housekeeping, personal concierge service, and afternoon snacks with choices from a wide selection of loose-leaf gourmet teas, cookies from our bottomless cookie jar, light hors d’oeuvres and seasonal hot and cold beverages. We also have an extensive wine list for you to enjoy while here. For the connected traveler we have complimentary wireless internet access throughout the property, as well as a guest computer and printer so you’re never out of touch.
We are pet friendly and to that end we have five pet-friendly rooms available year round. Each room has its own private entrance and we supply extra towels, bowl and treats for your four legged companion. Pet sitters are available with advance notice should you wish to have an evening or afternoon to yourselves. You can read more and review our pet policies here. This will be our eleventh season and we have welcomed the return of many guests who share our love for the seacoast, its historic homes, magnificent scenery, and all the fine shops, galleries and dining that the Kennebunks have to offer.
It is a pleasure for us to have this chance while you stay in Kennebunkport to say “hello”, share our home, and tell you why we love Kennebunkport! This is our story and our welcome to “our” Kennebunkport and “Your Very Special Place”.
